JJ&Co Cousins & Canines
Our policies.
A little boring, but important. These policies help us keep things fair, safe and straightforward for everyone. Your pet’s welfare will always come first.

Cancellation policy
- 24+ hours’ notice: cancel or rearrange free of charge.
- Less than 24 hours’ notice: 50% of the booked service may be charged.
- Same-day cancellation, or we’re already on our way: the full booking price may be charged.
- Emergencies and exceptional circumstances: please speak to us. We’re human too and will always try to be reasonable.
If JJ&Co needs to cancel, you’ll never be charged for a service we haven’t provided.
Hot weather policy
We monitor the weather and the individual dog. There isn’t one temperature that is safe for every dog.
- Move walks to an earlier or cooler time where possible.
- Shorten or adapt walks.
- Stick to shaded areas and gentler exercise.
- Replace a walk with a home visit, toilet break and enrichment where appropriate.
- Cancel if we don’t believe the booked service can be carried out safely.
If JJ&Co decides we cannot safely provide the booked service and we’re unable to offer a suitable alternative, you won’t be charged. If a safe alternative is offered but you choose to cancel instead, the normal cancellation policy applies.
Payment policy
- Payment arrangements will be agreed when booking.
- One-off and occasional bookings are normally payable on the day of the service.
- Regular clients can arrange weekly invoicing with us where agreed.
- Where an invoice is issued, payment is due within 3 days of the invoice date.
- Payment can be made securely through Spot or by bank transfer using the details provided on your invoice.
- If a payment becomes overdue, we’ll send a friendly reminder.
- Outstanding balances must be settled before further bookings can take place.
- If payments are repeatedly late, we may require future services to be paid for in advance.
If you’re ever having an issue making a payment, please let us know. Communication goes a long way and we’ll always try to help.
Our promise
Our policies aren’t here to make things complicated. They’re here to protect your pets, our clients and our little business. We’ll communicate with you, be reasonable where circumstances are outside your control, and make decisions based on the welfare of the animals entrusted to us.
Your pet’s welfare comes first. Always.
